Humphrey Center Hall, Barangay Amsic, Angeles City — The 22nd Foundation Week at Humphrey Foundation Learning Center commenced with an electrifying start as the school held its annual Battle of the Brains 2024, an academic quiz competition showcasing the school’s brightest minds. Five teams—Bright Sparks, Energetic Elites, Genius Squad, Mighty Mavericks, and the Mind Marvels—competed in this annual academic showdown, captivating the audience with quick answers and strategic teamwork.
Held on the first day of the Foundation Week celebration, this year’s Battle of the Brains featured questions across various subjects in Science, Mathematics, History, Literature, and General Knowledge, challenging learners to think fast and work together. The competition was divided into three rounds—easy, average, and difficult, each growing more challenging as the competition advanced. Learners worked in teams, drawing upon their individual strengths and supporting each other through the high-stakes rounds.

After a thrilling series of rounds, the Energetic Elites emerged as champions, whose swift responses and sharp intellect secured them victory. HFLC Principal, Miss Sab Miranda, commended all participants, noting that the competition was a "true display of our learners’ dedication to learning." She went on to emphasize the importance of academic competitions like the Battle of the Brains, which not only encourage learners to excel academically but also help them develop essential life skills such as teamwork, confidence, and resilience.
In addition to the Energetic Elites, other teams showcased remarkable performances, displaying the school’s commitment to nurturing intellectual curiosity and fostering a supportive environment for all learners. The success of the Battle of the Brains has set an inspiring tone for the rest of Foundation Week, leaving learners, teachers, parents, and guardians eagerly anticipating the days ahead.
